Forensic Science

Love a mystery? Want to learn how to solve a crime?  Do you like biology and science?

Then this camp is for you!  Campers will solve crimes by utilizing various techniques such as blood typing, forensic anthropology, fingerprint analysis, impression analysis for tires and shoes, hair analysis, blood spatter, and more.  Synthetic blood is used in all experiments.

Our Crime this summer is Who Killed Henry Ward.

On a cold, autumn night in the year 1906, a woman who identifies herself as ‘Anita Goodstory’ frantically details her discovery of a man’s body on the shoulder of a road at the edge of the city. Police wagons are dispatched immediately to the scene. The police arrive to find a body, clothed in heavy pants, pack boots, and a long thick buckskin coat. A car with front-end damage is idling nearby and there is a young man kneeling over the body, crying. The young man describes himself as Charles Ward and explains the man lying dead is his father, Henry Ward.
