Challenge: Learning about rock types with starburst:

First watch this video about igneous rock. Then for the activity wash your hands and grab two starbursts of different colors. Unwrap them both and start mixing them together with your hands, they will be hard at first but it will become easier as they warm up. When the starbursts are one on top of the other, this acts as sedimentary rock which is what surrounds fossils. When the colors start to mix you have now made metamorphic rock, an example would be marble. Lastly, when the colors have all mixed together you have now made igneous rock which is what the oceans tectonic plates are made out of. Take a picture of the starbursts at all of the stages (sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rock.) Then, send the pictures to lyriennejadeslimery@gmail.com so I can see what you’ve made!
