August 2025: Teamwork and Leadership: The Hidden Curriculum of Camp
Camps aren’t just about the project—they’re about who your child becomes while working on the project.
We intentionally teach teamwork and leadership because those skills don’t magically appear under pressure.
What “agency with guardrails” looks like in real life
- Kids practice dividing roles and negotiating decisions.
- They learn how to give and receive feedback without shutting down.
- They practice leading and following—both matter.
- They learn accountability through the guardrails they created.
A day at camp, in plain language
Most weeks follow a predictable routine so kids feel safe and confident. Inside that structure, they have real choice.
- Launch: set intention for teamwork.
- Work blocks: team builds and shared challenges.
- Reset breaks: regulate and reconnect.
- Close: reflect on collaboration.
Why this matters for families
When kids help shape the environment, they take ownership. They learn to collaborate, repair mistakes, and stick with hard problems. And because our camps blend Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (with coding and storytelling woven throughout), kids practice the skills they’ll use in school and in life—without it feeling like another classroom.
