Choosing the Right Camp Track: Discovery, Explorers, and Pathfinders
One of the biggest reasons families love ESTEAM Learning Labs is that our camps aren’t one-size-fits-all. We design different tracks because kids grow fast—and what works for a 6-year-old isn’t what a 12-year-old needs.
Discovery (Ages 4–8): Confidence + Foundations
Discovery is built for young learners. The focus is on hands-on exploration, predictable routines, and short, engaging activity blocks. Kids practice cooperation, communication, and “try again” thinking in a supportive environment.
Explorers (Ages 8–12): Bigger Builds + Deeper Problem-Solving
Explorers is where kids take on longer projects, revise their work, and learn to collaborate through real challenges. You’ll see more complex builds, more sustained focus, and stronger teamwork expectations.
Pathfinders (Teens): Purpose + Ownership
Pathfinders is for teens who need meaningful work. Projects are purpose-driven, and teens practice leadership, planning, and communication. Many Pathfinders camps involve storytelling, design thinking, and real creation cycles.
How to Decide
Age is a starting point, but readiness matters too. Consider:
- Does your child prefer quick wins or longer projects?
- Do they thrive with structure, or do they need choice to stay engaged?
- Do they like building, creating, performing, or experimenting?

Next week, we’re spotlighting Math and Coding as part of ESTEAM—because logical thinking shows up across every kind of project.
