Planning Ahead for Summer 2025: How to Choose Camps Without Overbooking Your Family
Planning summer early is helpful, but it can also feel like pressure. The goal isn’t to book every week. The goal is to build a summer that works for your child and your family.
Start With Your Child’s Needs
- Do they need routine or variety?
- Do they prefer hands-on building, art, science, or storytelling?
- Are they energized by groups, or do they need a calmer environment?
Choose One Anchor Week First
Pick one camp week you know will be a good fit, then build around it. Many families use one “favorite theme” week and one “try something new” week.
Leave Breathing Room
Kids benefit from downtime too. A great summer often includes both camp weeks and open weeks to rest, play, and reset.
