July 2025: Socratic Launch: The Simple Routine That Changes the Whole Day
One of the most important parts of our day is also one of the simplest: Morning Launch.
We open with a short prompt or question that invites kids to think out loud and connect the day’s project to something real.
What “agency with guardrails” looks like in real life
- It creates a shared purpose before kids split into teams.
- It builds vocabulary for problem-solving and collaboration.
- It gives quieter kids a low-pressure way to participate.
- It sets a tone of curiosity instead of compliance.
A day at camp, in plain language
Most weeks follow a predictable routine so kids feel safe and confident. Inside that structure, they have real choice.
- Launch: question, quick share, set the challenge.
- Lab: build, test, revise.
- Team moments: collaboration and communication practice.
- Close: reflection and celebration.
Why this matters for families
When kids help shape the environment, they take ownership. They learn to collaborate, repair mistakes, and stick with hard problems. And because our camps blend Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (with coding and storytelling woven throughout), kids practice the skills they’ll use in school and in life—without it feeling like another classroom.
